This is a random pre-Dreigiau storyline that jumped in my mind, probably inspired by current Wayrift RPs that include a lot of Zento and Jin interaction.

JinRai (father of KoGuRai) was a man of the North Clans. He's steeped in the old ways, the one true keeper of the culture and knowledge of times before the rise of Nefol. He's a respected warrior (and storyteller) who eventually became Zento's friend, mentor and right-hand man. Though there's a huge gap between Zento's forward-thinking enthusiasm and Jin's more traditional and superstitious upbringing, they really are a great pair of friends and lots of fun to explore.

However, I could certainly see things not starting out so easily between them.

Young Zento, wet behind the ears, would have been ignorant, brash and arrogant in his first dealings with the old clans. Though his goal was to bring the enlightenment of the Dreigiau to the Gatherings, not everyone was so gracious to accept or trust his teachings. And that probably got him in over his head one too many times.

Here, Zento probably shot his mouth off a bit too much and was taught a lesson from the no-nonsense JinRai... who was a much more seasoned and practiced warrior than young Zento would have been at this point. It's not the last lesson he's learned from Jin, for sure, but it was a step in the right direction. *laughs*

Don't worry. Zento's not too hurt, besides his youthful pride.

Zento and JinRai belong to me (though Syn usually writes for Jin).

Massive scythe aside, Zento would TOTALLY fit in at the Southern Water Tribe! :nod: JinRai has the right weapon for the Water Tribes, just now the right color-scheme. Though his mindset would work wonderfully at the Northern Water Tribe. They're such sticklers for tradition there.</Avatard>
